Haunted Places

Many places in the world are said to be haunted by a spirit or ghostly presence. While it may seem like a a bad thing, commercial establishments with one or more ghosts often experience great interest from paranormal enthusiasts. It's a great site! In fact it's probably one of the best there is! It's certaintly better than any others I've ever been on, however I do have two suggestions. One; under Haunted you've got a list of haunted sites in the U.S, but you're missing New Orleans and that's my absolute favorite. It's pretty easy to get info on it too. Also in your Vampires section you say one way to kill them is stab them in the heart with a wooden stake but actually you're supposed to be able to stab them anywhere with wood. And it's also said you can stab them in the heart with silver andk ill them but that sounds morel ike werewolves. Thanks for having such a great site!

I'm not too sure if this relates to ghosts or not, but it regards untraceable sounds. My boyfriend was home alone one afternoon and heard irregular breathing noises louder than his own. It was loudest in the kitchen, but there was no one thing the sound was coming from. It lasted about 2 hours and then disappeared. He's usually not one to suspect anything paranormal, but this freaked him out. Do you know anything relating to hearing breathing noises?

I have an incredible story. We are living in a haunted house located in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. Things move for no reason...after we had the pimp/drug dealer,/drug addict/thief (all one person) arrested downstairs, all movement stopped...this house is calling to me. One of the owners recently died. With the exception of myself and roommate All people currently connected with this house are so greedy and evil, I had our part blessed with holy water, but evil still reigns. I have a story, but having problem writing, please give suggestions, I'm desperate. I'm an Irish American, born in Greenwich Village, raised in Manhattan and Staten Island and really want to do Cartoons. But this house is calling me to write this true, unbelievable story. I'm not a loose cannon, believe me this house is the topic of this street.

Have you ever herd of the Gurdon Light. I lived In Prescott Arkansas In 1993 and was told the story like this...a long time ago a little girl was out playing when night came her parents started to worry. So her father went to look for her. He had his lantern. He searched everywhere. He was walking along the tracks and was hit by a train. He had gotten stuck in the tracks. To this day at midnight you can stop on the tracks and see the light coming at you and actually go through you. I never believed the story, I just figured it was an old tale, and I never went at midnight. Then about 3 years later I was watching unsolved mysteries and the story of the Gurdon light came on. Check it out if you like.

One of my favorites in my home town of Portsmouth New Hampshire is the Moffet Lad house. Housing more than six colonial generations, and a station for the under ground rail road. Its said to have ghosts or spirits of runaway slaves and of dyeing reletives. One of the most haunted rooms is the study, were a portrait was then because of reasons i forgot was repainted on.but some say that you still can feel the deceased and some say that you can see remnants of the pre-portrait.

i have an idea for your site. i have heard a lot about civil war battlefields being haunted, and houses around civil war battlefields being haunted. maybe you could put something in about that.

I know Gettysburg is haunted. I have seen a few tv specials on it, where they have these ghost tours, and they heard battle drums. Also, a girl was staying home alone in a mansion and she heard footsteps upstairs. She called the police and no one was there, and they think it was a soldier. I am not sure if these are the exact stories, but there probably is a lot of stuff on the Internet, and in books.

Your missing an old tradition that has been passed down for many years in New City, New York... " The Old Ghost Dog of South Mountain Road " The house at the end of South Mountain Road used to be owned by a deceased president, or so I am told, And his dog was left there..... And he now guards the house, night after night. My best friend and I passed the house one night, knowing very well at the time that the house was abandoned and boarded up. We saw a light go on in the old house and we started to hear howling from the old place. We have never run home so fast in our lives! We have had witches on the top of the mountain before, that wasn't new... But this ghost dog actually being heard and a light being on in a house that has been abandoned for years.... Now that was just plain crazy!.... I normally don't believe in anything like this, but I heard and saw lights go on and so did my best friend.... we are still best friends today! It occurred about 8 years ago maybe more maybe less.
