The Ozark Howler

The Ozark Howler is a large "cat-like" creature sighted in the general area of the Ozark Mountains. The Ozark Howler is also known as the Black Howler or Howler. The animal is said to be an extremely large, heavy set black cat. The howler produces an eerie "howl", hence the name. Occasionally the animal is reported to have horns or glowing eyes.

On a University of Arizona website "Irregular Jonathan" insisted that not only is the Ozark Howler a hoax, he claimed to be behind it. Sadly, that site is no longer on-line.

Have you checked to see whether "Ozark howler" goes back before Jonathan what-ever-his name is? Some people like to claim credit for the unexplained just because they don't believe (or don't want to believe) it and they feel it gets too much attention. Some sites and media will claim that two men in England created the thousands of crop circles all over the world and ignore all evidence to the contrary, including a film that watched the field and showed no humans when the circle formed.
