Slimy Slim isn't one of your more "common" lake monsters, like cressie or nessie.

I am a student folklorist from Idaho. I came across your website and I am pleased to see our local lake monster on it! I am hoping you can help me out with a little information. Can you tell me all you have on "Slimy Slim"? I know our lake monster by two different names, Slimy Slim and Sharlie. I know just about everything I need to know about Sharlie, but I am seriously lacking info on Slimy Slim. Anything you could give me would be appreciated. |

My friends Lisa and Karen who were raised in McCall,Idaho were amazed to learn that the story of the lake monster probably began with an alligator. However they said they always knew the monster by the name of Sharlie and usually it was referred to as a female. Even in the winter Sharlie was a tourist attraction and was depicted in snow sculptures during the annual winter carnival. |

I don't know where you got your information about "Slimy Slim". The monster's name is/was Sharlie, as has been known by and to many generations of McCall residents and other Idahoans who summered there |
