Demons

devil catDemons exist in most religions, from the Ancient Greeks to the Christian New Testament. In most cultures demons personify evil, pain, and suffering. One consistency is that multiple demons usually exist, frequently in some sort of hierarchy. Each demon usually has it's own name and unique characteristics. Often each demon exploits a specific weakness in man, creates a certain suffering for man, or wants some special thing from man.

To the Ancient Greeks daimons were minor deities, not necessarily good or evil. The good demons were Eudemons, and the evil were called Cacodemons. Many Eastern religions feature a host of malevolent demons. Ancient Buddhists had the Mira who embodied all that was evil. The Indian demons are lead by the powerful Ravana, who can change shape and is invulnerable against all other Gods.

In the Christian religion demons are the embodiment of evil, with the Devil and his many minions called demons. The Devil is usually depicted as being red with horns, a tail, and carrying a pitchfork. The Devil is also sometimes called Satan, Lucifer or Beelzebub.

Christian demons are said to have many powers which are alluring to men, such as prophecy. Indeed, the Satanic trinity is said to be the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. (Rev. 16:13-16). However, it is said that partaking of these powers will put a man under the control of evil spirits.

Christian demons not in the underworld are either free on Earth and air or live temporarily in the "abyss". A demon who is in the abyss will eventually go back to "the lake of fire" or Gehenna with Satan, demons, and unsaved men.

The Devil is frequently associated with Witchcraft. However, most modern Witches deny even believing in Satan. This nagging link between the Devil and Witchcraft was probably created by Christians either afraid of Witchcraft or just wishing to taint it. It is also entirely possible that this link started with some ancient Witches becoming involved with worshipping the Devil.

One similarity in several religions is the origin of the head demon. Frequently the head demon started out as being in a heaven with the main or only God of the religion. God and the demon quarrel or battle, and the demon is condemned to rule the underworld.

In the Christian bible, Lucifer starts out as an angel. Lucifer battles God, is defeated, and is sent to rule hell. In the Muslim faith, Ibis is an angel. Ibis will not bow down to Adam - an Earth creature. Thus, Ibis becomes the enemy of man.

The Devil is Defeated and Jesus Christ is King

3 Jn 1:11
11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

Rev 17:13-14
13 They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast.
14 They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.

Rev 19:20-21
20 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

Rev 20:1-3
1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain.
2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.

Rev 20:10-15
10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the
false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.
13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.
14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Rev 22:12-13
12 "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

Prayer is talking with God. God knows your heart andis not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:

*************************************************************************************
*
*
* "Lord Jesus, I need you. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open *
* the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for *
* forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my *
* life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be." *
*************************************************************************************

Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If it does, pray this prayer right now, and Christ Will come into your life, as He promised.

Did you receive Christ into your life? According to His promise in Revelation 3:20, where is Christ right now in relation to you? Christ said that He would come into your life. Would He mislead you? Base your authority on God who promises eternal life to all who receive His Son.

"And this is the testimony God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life?' (I John 5:11-13).

If you prayed this prayer you are now a part of the Kingdom of God. When you take your last breath here in this world, in the blink of an eye, you will awake standing in the presence of our Lord. There he will show you into the kingdom to Heaven where you will spend eternity.

This is why Christians have joy in there hearts and it shows on there faces. It gives us hope in tomorrow knowing that Jesus Christ is there for us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The greatest part of being a Christian is knowing the best is yet to come.

Regarding your page on demons, Iblis is incorrectly referred to a an angel.

Iblis was a jinn or an entity created from smokeless fire.

Angels are created from light and can only do As Alllah has commanded them.

Man is created from clay.

Jinns, as do men, have limited free and can choose to do acts of righteousness or sinful acts. However, jinns are more inclined torn mischevious deeds than men because of their fiery nature.

I refer you to a classic work from one of the most respected of the scholars of the way of life called Islam.

There is a book available called" Ibn Taymiyah's Essay on the Jinnrn(Demons) translated by Abu Aminah Bilal Phillips"

Islam has very rich and deep explorations of the subject of "paranormal" activity.
