Bats are nocturnal flying mammals of the order Chiroptera. Bats eat chiefly insects and flower nectar. Bats have been associated with
vampires. Some legends state that vampires can turn themselves into bats.
Members of the bat family Megadermatidae are called "vampire bats". These bats will feed on the blood of living mammals, usually cattle. Vampire Bats live in tropical America.
Bats are beneficial to man and very important ecologically. They polinate many plants and can eat a huge amount of insects.
