Archaeoceti Whale

A prehistoric suborder of whales. The Basilosauridae family of Archaeoceti had a snakelike shape because of an elongation of the back and lumbar vertebrae. Some speculate that the Loch Ness Monster in Scotland could be an Archaeoceti whale. The Archaeoceti are thought to have died out twenty five million years ago.
